Jeffery Ryan Futrell, (Brother J.R.) is the Founder and President of Young Man University Inc. It is his passion and spirit which is the driving force of this Company. The primary goal of YMU is to reach men who are lost in gangs and the activities associates with gangs. To share the love of God through Jesus Christ and then offer opportunities to help men find their legitimate place in the world. Mr. Futrell is a former gang member who has suffered tragic losses as a result of his involvement. The death of his daughter in his own word is what God used to turn him back to the Father. His experience in the areas of business has help to create a sound infrastructure for this new and innovative Corporation. With all of the business accruements which he possess it is his devotion and dedication to change that sets him and Young Man University apart from other organizations. Few men offer the well rounded balance which plays an essential role in the Company’s efforts to positively reach men. Mr. Futrell is a man of great faith in Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior. He believes and relies upon this factor more than any other. God has given the President of Young Man University a testimony and a song that the angels can not sing. His life story is what we believes compels men to seek God’s purpose in their own lives. |

James E. Thompson |
James E. Thompson Sr. born and raised in the south part of Memphis, Tn. Jamesgrew up in the community areas of Lakeview Garden and Whitehaven where he and his younger sibling were raised under the nurturing of his grandmother where they gained the understanding of respect and appreciation. Mr. Thompson graduated classof 02’from Whitehaven High, one of the most well acknowledged high schools in the state of Tennessee and was also known as one of the most influential football player of his time. At a very early age Mr. Thompson fathered four children with his high school sweet heart and married at the age of twenty. As a full time father, Mr. Thompson experienced difficulties with stability and fell victim to making some bad decisions that would change his life for the better of his family and his soul. The year 2010 Mr. Thompson found has passion when he chose to volunteer his services for the youth by joining the University of Memphis based organization E.A.S.I., where he volunteered his services for three years. Mr. Thompson was voted president 2013 of the Lemoyne Owen College based organization MAN-UP “Men Inspiring Higher”where he also is finishing up his undergraduate degree in business. Fall of 2013 Mr. Thompson met CEO/President of Young Man University who gave him the opportunity to consult under his leadership where he is now a senior consultant. |
